What is the NDIS?

The NDIS, also known as the National Disability Insurance Scheme, provides eligible participants with funding to purchase services and supports that will help meet their needs.

The NDIS has been progressively rolling out across Australia since 2013, and now it has reached the Sunshine Coast. As of January 2019, eligible participants have been receiving their new plans through the NDIS.

If you are currently in receipt of a disability support, you should have been contacted by the NDIS to arrange a planning meeting. If this has not occurred you should contact the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) on 1800 800 100.

Reasonable and necessary supports are funded in a participants NDIS plan and can be used to cover many areas such as:

  • Assistance with daily living
  • Community and social participation
  • Therapies
  • Consumables such as incontinence products and low cost orthotics
  • Assistive Technology such as wheelchairs and smart watches
  • Assistance with employment
  • Plan Management
  • Support Co-ordination

If you currently have an NDIS plan or would like more information, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
